EURO 2024: Germany to Host Major Tournament for First Time Since 2006
Tournament to Take Place from June 14 to July 14, 2024
Germany has been selected to host UEFA EURO 2024, marking the country's first major tournament as hosts since the 2006 FIFA World Cup. The tournament will take place from June 14 to July 14, 2024, and the winner will qualify for the 2025 FIFA Confederations Cup.
Germany Awarded Hosting Rights
Germany was chosen to host EURO 2024 by the UEFA Executive Committee in September 2018. The country was selected ahead of Turkey, which had also bid to host the tournament. This will be the third time that Germany has hosted the European Championship, having previously done so in 1988 and 2008.
The Olympiastadion in Berlin is the largest venue in use at Euro 2024. It has staged every German Cup final since 1985 and is also the home of the German national football team. Other venues that will be used for the tournament include the Allianz Arena in Munich, the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund, and the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Stuttgart.
