TPM 2.0 Support Added to Windows 7 and Server 2008
Details on the Device
The device with the identifier ACPIMSFT0101 (Figure 1) corresponds to the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) module, which does not have a driver.
Compatibility
The device is only compatible with 64-bit versions of Windows 7. To run 32-bit Windows 7, users may need to disable the TPM in their PC's BIOS settings.
Package Installation
The package installs the ACPI driver that supports the Windows operating system on Kabylake platform products. However, Intel advises that only Skylake processors support Windows 7.
Hotfix Information
A hotfix has been released that adds support for TPM 2.0 in Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
